Lynette Roberts-King
Team leader, Catholic Education Office
It is my pleasure to advise you that we have appointed Carmel Spencer to the Secondary Religious Education Adviser role. Carmel will take up the role at the end of April 2017.
Carmel is currently Principal at Taikura Rudolf Steiner School in Hastings and comes to us with a range of experiences in both state and state integrated schools including senior management experience at both Cullinane College and SHC College Lower Hutt.
Carmel has a passion for Catholic education and brings her strengths in curriculum development, leadership development, and mentoring. Carmel has been appointed to a full time role in our team, with her main focus being on the provision of advice support and professional formation to DRS and teachers of Religious Education.
Among other things she will assume some aspects of the new Principal and leadership support and development although the exact details of her role beyond the Secondary REA are yet to be finalised.
I look forward to welcoming Carmel to the team in term 2 next year.
