Te Kupenga - Catholic Theological Office is a centre for Catholic education and enquiry within the culture of Aotearoa New Zealand. The approach to education can be summarised in three words: Information, Formation and Transformation.


Diocese of Palmerston North Campus – Te Tari Toko I te Matauranga Katorika

Te Kupenga – Catholic Theological Office deals with Tertiary Education. They provide courses at levels 5, 6 and 7 on the National Qualifications Framework. They are an NZQA registered Private Training Establishment with a particular focus on providing courses for seminarians and for teachers in Catholic schools, yet open to anyone who wants to study the theological disciplines at a post-secondary level.

Eligibility 

Open entry — You don’t have to be a Catholic to do this course of study. All adult members of the parish community are welcome to be part of the courses that are offered, but especially those who serve as:

  • Teachers and DRS’s
  • Catechists for : RCIA, Pre-baptism Formation, First Communion and Reconciliation, Pre-marriage Formation,
  • Liturgy Committee and Musicians
  • Lectors and Eucharistic Ministers
  • Parish Council members
  • Youth Ministry leaders
  • Finance Committee members
  • Proprietors representatives on Boards of Trustees
  • All Board of Trustees members
