Young Vinnies, Myah and Hugo, Year 6 students at St Joseph’s School, New Plymouth, on their Friday visit to the New Plymouth Foodbank. Over the last few years, St Joseph’s Young Vinnies have developed a strong relationship with the New Plymouth Foodbank. Each Friday, two Vinnies pay a visit to the foodbank as part of outreach in the community. The parents (and the clients) give permission for the children to sit in the interviews with clients. The children listen and then help to pack food parcels. They come back to school transformed, sharing stories and feeling incredibly humbled and grateful for what they have and wanting to go again.
