Kathleen Field

In late February 2018, Kathleen Field will finish as the Diocesan Young Catholics (DYC) Coordinator and move to other roles in the diocese, including Hospital Chaplaincy. We will have an opportunity to acknowledge Kathleen’s contribution in the near future.

Nick Wilson

In replacing Kathleen, the Diocese of Palmerston is pleased to announce the appointment of Nick Wilson as Diocesan Young Catholics Team Leader.  Nick has a wealth of experience in professional and voluntary capacities but also brings qualifications in education, religious studies and other relevant areas to the role.

Thomas Saywell

Thomas will work for the Diocese as Diocesan Youth Minister in a part-time capacity, working with Nick to support parishes across the Diocese in their ministry with young people. He will also assist with DYC events and programmes, promotions, and have a special role to play in initiatives to support young people in their faith life as they transition from high-school to work or study. From Christchurch, Thomas has experience in youth ministry and has completed some theological study along with creative design and public speaking.

Michelle Teahan

Working as Youth Minister in the Parishes of Palmerston North is Michelle Teahan.  Michelle comes from Masterton but has spent the last 5 years in Auckland and overseas, working in youth ministry roles. Therefore Michelle brings significant youth ministry experience to the role along with qualifications in religious studies, the arts, and the Certificate in Catholic Youth Ministry.  Michelle will also live in Te Ahi Kaa, the community house in Amesbury Street, Palmerston North.

Tausilia McClutchie and Georgia Collins

Reprising their roles in 2018 are Tausilia and Georgia. Together they will continue to co-lead Te Ahi Kaa, the Catholic Young Adult Community House in Palmerston North. Tausilia will also carry on her role as Campus Minister at St Peter’s College in Palmerston North, and this year will also be working as Campus Minister at Cullinane College in Whanganui.

We wish Nick, Thomas, Michelle, Tausilia and Georgia all the best as they start their new roles with us.
