‘Thriving in this Land’ is a workshop series created by Common Grace Aotearoa and hosted by the Justice, Peace, Ecology and Development Commission of the Diocese of Palmerston North. It is designed to help us join the dots between following Jesus and some of the big issues New Zealand is facing. We have the opportunity now to explore some of the big issues of our time and consider how God is calling us to respond.
Across three 2 hour open and collaborative sessions, we’ll explore how as a nation we can address poverty and the cost of living, respond to our unstable climate, and honour the Treaty. We’ll engage with theology, and hear from experts and people on the ground. We’ll discuss how to work towards a nation where everyone has enough, our earth is protected, and our promises are kept.
The three workshops will be held at Te Rau Aroha, Catholic Diocesan Centre, 33 Amesbury Street from 7pm to 9pm on 19 August, 26 August and 9 September. More details are included in the flyer below. RSVP to Mary Eastham, [email protected] for catering purposes.
