Seven Whanganui women were acknowledged for their years of service to the St Vincent de Paul Society at the 5.30pm Vigil Mass, at Holy Family Church, on Saturday November 9. Local conference president Marianne Vine presented the women with long-service certificates on behalf of the National Office in Wellington. They were also gifted with a cross from the international office in Paris. The women have all served at least 20 to 30 years through volunteering at the shop or visiting and committee responsibilities within the organisation. Pictured (l-r) are Fr Marcus Francis, parish priest, Te Parihi Katorika Ki Whanganui, Raewyn Udy, Merle Manson, Shirley Cooper, Margaret Boyle, Liz Thomas, Madeline McCrea and Leone Newick.
