Each year the Christian churches of Palmerston North participate in the Way of the Cross, where each church presents a different station.
A large cross is carried through the streets of the city to each church.
This year the pilgrimage was based on the song, ‘Were You There When They Crucified Our Lord?’. Each church was given an aspect of the song to present as their station.
The Cathedral of the Holy Spirit was given the Crown of Thorns to focus on. Tertiary and St Peter’s College students presented a drama showing how we metaphorically crown Jesus’ head with thorns in our everyday lives, and what we can do to prevent it.
Many thanks to all who were involved this year.
